Casshern Sins OST - At last!!

When I did the review of the Casshern Sins Complete Album (here), I mentioned my frustration of not having the full version of the beautiful insert song "A Path" sung by Nami Miyahara. My prayers have now been answered... The Casshern Sins OST has the full version along with 25 BGM tracks by Kaoru Wada. Overall, it's a really solid soundtrack with sad and compelling tracks, as well as action and angst-ridden tracks. You might have already heard some of Kaoru Wada's music, if you watch D. Gray Man or have watched Inuyasha! He's quite the talented composer...

Here's my rating for the Casshern Sins OST: 7.5/10

Here's the full insert song A Path:

Casshern Sins Special Complete

While most of us are waiting impatiently for the Casshern Sins OST, here's something that can make the wait more bearable: A special compilation album entitled "Casshern Sins Special Complete". It includes the TV versions of the OPs and EDs from Casshern Sins, some of the insert songs, BGM tracks, and the OP for the original Casshern series from 1973. It's a basically a Casshern pot-pourri!

4. Aoi Kage (Inst.Version)

12.Tatakae! CASSHERN(Bonus Track)

6/10 All I can say after listening to this album, is that I can't wait for the "real" Casshern Sins OST! It's like they're teasing us with this album. I don't quite understand the logic of it. Why don't we have the full version of the beautiful insert song "a path" by Nami Miyahara (see my posts on the insert songs here)?? The Instrumental version is fine, but the real version would have been better! Thank god, they gave us SKY which is awesome. My favorite track of the album is LUNA, such a wonderful and sad song!! I'm not a big fan of OP for the original Casshern series by Isao Sasaki though. Too cheesy for my taste!

After the cut, the OP sequence from the original Casshern series:

Casshern Sins ED3 Full Song - Hitari to Kage by Shinji Kuno

Casshern Sins has yet another ED theme song... The second one only lasted one episode. This one is called Hitari to Kage and is sung by Shinji Kuno.

8/10 Hitari To Kage is a very beautiful ballad with piano and string accompaniments. Shinji Kuno has an amazing voice, I'm so jealous! I wish I has this guy's voice... He has no problem reaching for those high notes, and the sound of his voice is really nice. I hope this song stays as the ED for a couple of episodes.

Casshern Sins ED2 - Aoi Kage by Otoyakichiemon'Ju

Casshern Sins had a new ED theme song for its 13th episode. It was Aoi Kage by Otoyakichiemon'Ju.

7/10 Aoi Kage is a rocky number with a lot of charm. The singer's voice is really good, even though it's generally not the kind of voices I usually enjoy. But it's impressive nonetheless! Too bad I haven't heard the full version of the song yet! The melody is quite catchy...

The Kanji lyrics and English translation are after the cut.

Lyrics (English):
The reason for your overflowing tears
Let's stop asking for it
When the sky is filled with the blue of dawn
Let's row to tomorrow

You can't live with just kindness so hurt someone
You can't live naked so embrace someone

Nobody knows the reason why
If it hurts why love?
Nobody knows the place to go
Because the end is here do we still wish to meet?

To the destination of the broken ship
Let's travel without fear
If we closed our hot eyelids
Let us surrender to pain

Acting as if I saw eternity within an instant
You here I promised never to forget

Nobody knows the reason why
If the reason is to lose why be born?
Nobody knows the place to go
Because the end is here is it warm?

Nobody knows the reason why
If it hurts why love?
Nobody knows the place to go
Because the end is here do we still wish to meet?

Nobody knows the reason why
If the reason is to lose why be born?
Nobody knows the place to go
Because the end is here is it warm?

The tiny stardust will only disappear
Will we still believe in each other?

Lyrics (Kanji):

Nobody knows the reason why
Nobody knows the place to go

Nobody knows the reason why
Nobody knows the place to go

Nobody knows the reason why
Nobody knows the place to go
Nobody knows the reason why
Nobody knows the place to go

Casshern Sins ED single - Reason by KANA

Last month I reviewed the Casshern Sins ED (here) and I was a little harsh on my ratings. But now that I've heard the full version of Reason by KANA many times, and also maybe because I love the Casshern Sins anime so much, my new rating is 7/10.
You can download the full ED single with booklet here.

Casshern Sins Insert Songs - Episode 8 (Janice)

I just finished watching the last Casshern Sins episode (episode 8) and I couldn't help noticing the two beautiful insert songs sung by Janice (Nami Miyahara). This episode was not only visually stunning but also aurally stunning thanks to these two songs (SKY and A Path).

8.5/10 SKY by Nami Miyahara was my favorite of the two songs. It was the song sung by Janice at the very end of the episode, when Casshern is outside fighting. Her song represents hope against the Ruin. It felt really emotional, especially the end with the piano. You can download a ripped mp3 of the song here.
Watch the full song here:

8/10 A Path is sung at the very beginning of the episode, when we first get to meet Janice. The song is much shorter than SKY, but the melody is equally beautiful. Download the mp3 of the song here.

Casshern Sins - Full OP version

The OP single for the awesome new show Casshern Sins is out. The song is Aoi Hana by Color Bottle. I already wrote a post about it (here), and I gave it a 4.5/10 rating at the time. But after listening to the full version and getting used to the song I'll finally give it a 5.5/10. It hasn't convinced me that much yet. I know so many people love that song, but I'm not a fan of the tune.
For all the fans out there here's the full OP single to download!

Here's the PV of the song:

New Series OP and ED - Casshern Sins

I thought it would be a good idea to start reviewing some OPs and EDs from this new anime fall 2008 season. I still haven't found the time to watch any new shows yet, but I already know the ones that I'll watch. So this is the first OP and ED from a show I'm hoping to watch soon: Casshern Sins
4.5/10 The OP is Aoi Hana by Color Bottle (download the full OP single here!)

5/10 And this is the ED: Reason by K∧N∧

Those two songs sound quite bland. Nothing special really. The singer from the OP reminds me of Sting though. Their voices sound similar, or maybe I'm just hallucinating??
Conclusion: Nothing to see here, so move along please...
