Answer for Anime Music Blind Test 8

Now and Then, Here and ThereCongratulations fricken-chicken for finding the answer to the Anime Music Blind Test 8. It was indeed the track Fearful Dream from the Now and Then, Here and there OST (Ima, Sokoni iru boku) by brilliant anime composer Taku Iwasaki. Now and Then is one of my favorite animes, it has one of the darkest and saddest story I've ever seen in anime, so it's definitely not for the faint of heart.

Here are a few memorable tracks from the OST:

Answer for Anime Music Blind Test 7

Infinite RyviusMy readers really are the best! Another round of Anime Music Blind Test that flew by so quickly! Congratulations to thariinye who guessed the mystery anime song. This one was a really tough one. It's an instrumental track from the Infinite Ryvius OST. The song is called Faint Hope and the composer is Hattori Katsuhisa. Infinite Ryvius is one of my favorite animes, and that's where my name comes from in case some of you were wondering! I've rarely seen an anime as intense as this one, and with such realistic and deep characters. I really recommend this series to everyone!

Anime Music Blind Test 7

Creepy guy from perfect blueI'm writing this post mainly for 2 reasons:
1. This post is just an excuse to post the picture of the creepy stalker dude from Perfect Blue... (In case you guys haven't noticed I'm a big fan of weird, creepy or disturbing anime pictures, so if you have any, send them please...)
2. I'm getting really frustrated that all my Anime Music Blind Tests end really quickly because of people finding out the right answers too fast! LOL just kidding! It's really nice to see that a lot of people want to play this guessing game and that so many of my readers have a vast knowledge of anime music!

So let's see if you can find out what the new mystery anime song is... Please write down your answers in the comment section (which anime, composer, song title and most important of all, who is the crazy stalker dude?)...

You can also download the song here in case the flash player isn't working.
Have fun!!

Answer for Anime Music Blind Test 6

X TV OST That was quick! The answer to the latest edition of the Anime Music Blind Test is indeed the guitar version of Sadame from the X TV anime. It's actually track 15 of the second OST and it's title is sometimes Destiny - Guitar Version or Unmei - Guitar Version. Oh and I forgot, the composer is of course the brilliant Sato Naoki (Eureka Seven soundtracks). Thank you Kiriska for finding out the answer so quickly!

10/10 Sadame is truly a masterpiece in my opinion! And the guitar version is as beautiful as the other versions... Sato Naoki is a master at composing haunting themes like this. What a beautiful sad song!
Here's a really nice AMV I found featuring the song, with clips from Elfen Lied, one of my favorite animes ever! Beware, it contains some pretty gory scenes...

Answer for Anime Music Blind Test 5

The mystery anime song was indeed Ai wa hana, kimi wa sono shushi from the Ghibli movie Only Yesterday (Omohide Poro Poro) and it is sung by the very popular japanese singer Harumi Miyako. Only Yesterday is the sixth film by critically acclaimed director Isao Takahata (Grave of the Fireflies) and was produced by Studio Ghibli (the same studio that produces Miyazaki films). Ai wa hana, kimi wa sono shushi is the ending theme song of the movie, and it is a Japanese translation of Amanda McBroom's composition The Rose, which is a pop song made famous by Bette Midler in the 1979 movie The Rose.

9.5/10 I've never heard the original song, so the first time I watched Only Yesterday, I couldn't help but fall instantly in love with the song. It is one of the most touching ballads I have ever heard, and I love Harumi Miyako's mature and dramatic voice. When you're used to young J-Pop singers, it's a real change!
Here's the original music video of the song:

Answer for Anime Blind Test 4

Turn a GundamThe mystery was quickly solved this time! The answer to the Anime Blind Test 4 was After All by Donna Burke. Well done Shawnz!
Download the full song here.

9/10 After All is from the Turn a Gundam Movie, and like the rest of the Soundtrack for the series and the movie, it's composed by Yoko Kanno. This song is a beautiful ballad with incredible vocals. It also reminds me of the type of songs that are used in Disney movies. It has that same kind of quality to it. Nice job Yoko!

Donna Burke is an australian singer who's been living in Japan since 1996. Burke has had over 10 years of classical voice lessons, and does jazz, classical, techno, folk, and rock concerts and because of this, she has been described in reviews as "one of the world's most versatile singers". Her voice can be heard on many anime and video game soundtracks, including Turn-A Gundam, Haibane Renmei, Vandread, Tokimeki Memorial, Tales of Legendia and Final Fantasy...

Here's a nice live rendition of the song:

Answer for Anime Music Blind Test 3

Pacifica in Scrapped Princess
Mystery solved! The answer to the third Anime Music Blind Test is indeed Dragoon no Tatakai from the Scrapped Princess OST! Composer is Hikaru Nanase. This is definitely the best song from the soundtrack. Scrapped Princess is a beautiful science-fiction anime and just listening to this song made me watch the whole series. Prior to the song, I didn't know anything about the show...

9/10 Here's this beautiful epic song again:

And here's a better picture that does more justice to the show. The first one was a screenshot that made me lolz.

Answer for Anime Music Blind Test 2

Blue Gender WallpaperFinally! AGM Hunter solved the mystery!! The mystery anime song was indeed the Blue Gender ED, Ai ga Osietekureta sung by Houko Kuwashima. Houko is also a famous seiyu and has played a wide variety of roles in anime (including Clare in Claymore, Kaiba in Kaiba, Isako in Denno Coil, Flay Allster in Gundam SEED...).

9/10 Ai Ga Osietekureta is one of my favorite EDs ever! It's a sad and romantic song with a beautiful melody! I hope you all enjoyed it! Here's the English version that came with the English dubbed version. The singer has a nice voice, even if it doesn't sound as fragile as Houko Kuwashima's voice. But it's worth a listen! Check it out:

Bakuretsu Tenshi
An update on my First Anime Music Blind Test! Someone found the answer today! I thought it would take longer than that... Congratulations to Anonymous who found out it was from the OST of Burst Angel (Bakuretsu Tenshi).
9/10 It's a track called Shinrai no Theme (信頼のテーマ) by Nishida Masara. The OST for Burst Angel has a couple of great tracks by the way!!
See you soon for a next edition of my Anime Music Blind Test! I'll try and make it harder next time!!
